What does the plugin do?

ItemsAdder adds custom items, blocks, furniture, emojis and GUIs to a Paper server, and builds a resource pack that shows them to players. Nexo and Oraxen do the same job; pick one, not several.

Hosting the resource pack on your server (self-host)

ItemsAdder can send its resource pack to players from a small web server that runs inside your Minecraft server. That web server needs its own port. It cannot share your main game port, because Minecraft is already using it.

  1. In the game panel , open the Network tab and click Add port. Any extra port works; Bots and websites (40000-40099) is the usual choice. See Adding Ports.
  2. Note the new port number and the IP address shown next to it.
  3. Open plugins/ItemsAdder/config.yml in Files and set the self-host section:
resource-pack: hosting: self-host: enabled: true server-ip: 104.234.6.135 # the IP shown next to your port on the Network tab pack-port: 40012 # your extra port, never your main game port append-port: true
  1. Make sure only one hosting method is on: no-host, simple_self_host, lobfile and external-host should all have enabled: false.
  2. Restart the server. The console should say Started self-host webserver on port: 40012 and print a download link such as http://104.234.6.135:40012/generated.zip. Open that link in your browser; if a file downloads, players will get the pack too.

Use the IP address from the Network tab for server-ip, not 0.0.0.0 and not your subdomain. The pack link is a normal web address, so it must point straight at the IP and port.

“Error running self-host: Address already in use”

This means pack-port is set to a port something else is already using, almost always your main game port (the one marked Primary on the Network tab). Change pack-port to an extra port you added for the pack, then restart.

If you have no free port left, delete a port you no longer use (stop the server first), or open a Hosting Support ticket on Discord .

Players are kicked or don’t get the pack

  • Check that the download link from the console works in a browser.
  • If you changed the port, run /iazip in the console and restart so the new link is used.
  • kick-player-on-decline: true kicks players who press No on the pack prompt. Set it to false if you don’t want that.
