Player data holds a player’s inventory, location, health and more. Deleting it makes that player start fresh the next time they join.
- Find the player’s UUID with any Minecraft UUID lookup website. Enter their name and copy the UUID.
- Stop the server so it does not rewrite the file.
- Open the Files tab and go into your world folder, then
playerdata. - Find the
.datfile that matches the UUID. Download it first as a backup. - Delete the file.
- Start the server. A new file is created when the player joins.
For stats and advancements, the stats and advancements folders next to playerdata use the same UUID file names.
Plugins like EssentialsX keep their own player data, for example in plugins/Essentials/userdata. Delete the matching file there to reset homes, balance and similar data.
Note that on offline-mode servers the UUID is different from the one on the official account, so check the names in usercache.json. See Online Mode Explained.
