Running a ServerMCASelector CLI

MCASelector  is an extremely helpful graphical and CLI tool that server administrators can use to modify their worlds, for example, to remove unused chunks to lower disk usage.

🚫

WARNING: Before doing anything else, please head over to the backups guide to create a full backup of your server, and also keep a copy of the world on your computer.

Usage

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Download your world folder (zip it first in the File Manager, then download it with SFTP or the panel).
  3. Unzip it on your computer and open it in MCASelector. Download MCASelector from the releases page .
  4. Select the chunks you want to delete or filter them, for example by InhabitedTime (given in ticks) to remove chunks that players barely visited, then apply the change.
  5. Zip the edited world and upload it back to your server, replacing the old world folder.

If you want to edit The Nether or The End on older server versions, you need to open the DIM-1 or DIM1 folder inside those worlds, since the region folder is not located in the root.

For more advanced use, see the full documentation for the CLI mode: https://github.com/Querz/mcaselector/wiki/CLI-Mode
