⚠️
Stop the server before editing. The game rewrites the file when it shuts down and will overwrite your changes if it is still running.
Open serverconfig.xml in the server’s root directory from Files in the panel , edit, save, and start the server. Unknown property names are ignored, and broken XML (a missing quote, for example) can stop the server from starting.

Difficulty and rules
Recent versions moved difficulty, day length, Blood Moon, loot, airdrops and XP into a single SandboxCode value. To make your own:
- In the game, open the Sandbox Options menu when creating a world.
- Start from a preset and adjust the options.
- Copy the generated code into
SandboxCodein the file. - Save, restart, and check the result in game.
The code is not readable, so keep a note of what you chose. If your server feels easier than expected after an update, check that SandboxCode is set.
