Make someone admin

You need the player’s Steam64 ID (17 digits, usually starting with 7656) from a Steam ID lookup site.

serveradmin.xml only exists after the server has started once. On a new server, start it, let it finish booting, then stop it before editing.

  1. Stop the server in the panel .
  2. In Files, open Saves, then your world folder, then your save folder (these match GameWorld and GameName), and open serveradmin.xml.
  3. In the admins section, remove the comment markers from the example line and put in your ID:
<admins> <admin steamID="YOUR_STEAM64_ID" permission_level="0" /> </admins>
  1. Save and start the server. Join and run dm to test.

Without editing files: with the server running and the player connected, run admin add <id> 0 in the Console.

Permission levels

Lower numbers mean more access. 0 is full admin and 1000 is a normal player. Each command has its own level in the permissions section, and a player can run it if their level is equal to or lower. For example, give moderators level 50 and set kick and ban to 50.

Console players may need platform and userid attributes instead of steamID.
