GamesDayZEdit loot on your DayZ server
⚠️

Stop the server before editing. One unclosed tag in an XML file can stop the whole economy from loading and leave you with no loot, so run the file through an XML validator.

The economy files are in your active map’s folder under mpmissions (for example dayzOffline.chernarusplus). The server only reads the folder set in serverDZ.cfg, so edit that one. In its db folder:

  • types.xml: the loot table
  • events.xml: dynamic events like helicopter crashes
  • globals.xml: economy-wide settings
  • cfgeconomycore.xml: lists which economy files load

types.xml

Each item has:

  • nominal: how many should exist on the map
  • min: when the count falls below this, more spawn
  • lifetime: seconds an untouched item lasts
  • restock: seconds before it tops up again
  • quantmin and quantmax: fill percentage for items like ammo and food
  • category and usage: where it can spawn

To make an item more common, raise nominal and min together, keeping min lower. To make it rarer or remove it, lower both, or set both to 0. The economy has a total budget, so do not raise everything at once or performance and other loot suffer.

events.xml

Each event has nominal, min, max, and secmin and secmax for the cooldown. Spawn positions are in cfgeventspawns.xml.

Tips

Changes apply as the economy cycles. For an instant effect, wipe the persistence data. Custom extra economy files must be registered in cfgeconomycore.xml, and mods that add items may need entries merged into types.xml.
