Just bought a server? Do these in order and you will skip the questions most new customers open tickets about.
1. Log in to the panel
Your server runs on the game panel at https://panel.atbphosting.com , not on the billing site. The billing site and the panel are separate accounts with separate passwords.
- Your panel login is the email in the “Your server is ready” message. Check spam if you cannot find it.
- No panel password yet, or forgot it? Press Forgot password on the panel login page.
- From billing you can also open Services, pick your server and press Manage server.
- The panel says you have no servers? You are logged in with a different email than the one the server was made for.
More help: Editing account details.
2. Link your Discord
In our Discord, run /billing link in a ticket or the bot commands channel while you are logged in to billing in the same browser. It gives you the Client role and lets staff see your services when you open a ticket.
3. Join your server
- Java: copy the address from the panel (or your subdomain) into Multiplayer > Add Server. A subdomain does not need a port.
- Bedrock: enter the address and the port in their own boxes. Bedrock always needs the port. See Join your Bedrock server.
- Bedrock players on a Java server need crossplay set up first, see GeyserMC.
4. Make yourself an operator
Type op YourName in the panel Console (no slash). Bedrock players joining through Geyser have a . in front of their name, so use op .YourName. See Make yourself an operator.
5. Choose your version before you build
Pick your Minecraft version and server software now, while the world is new. Upgrading later is fine with a backup, but a world opened on a newer version cannot go back to an older one. See Updating or changing versions and Server software overview.
6. Plugins, mods or add-ons
- Plugins (Paper, Leaf, Purpur) run only on the server; players install nothing. See Installing plugins.
- Mods (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge) need the same mods on every player’s game. Plugins and mods do not mix on a normal server. See Modpacks.
- Bedrock add-ons (behavior and resource packs) are for Bedrock servers. See Bedrock add-ons.
- Only download from official sources. Leaked or “cracked” premium plugins often carry backdoors that op strangers or wipe worlds.
7. Turn on backups
Set a backup schedule in the Backups tab and lock any backup you want to keep. Make a backup before every version change, egg change or big plugin install. See Backups.
8. Pre-generate the world
Pre-generating with Chunky stops new chunks from lagging the server while players explore. Do it with nobody online. See Chunky.
Still stuck?
Open a ticket on our Discord with your panel link. See How to get support. Never post your password in a ticket; staff will never ask for it.
