FiveM lets you run your own GTA V multiplayer server, most often for roleplay. Your server comes with txAdmin turned on and two ports: one for players and one for txAdmin.
Get a Cfx.re license key
Every FiveM server needs a license key. It is free.
- Go to portal.cfx.re and sign in with your Cfx.re account (the same account you use for the FiveM forums).
- Open Server Registration Keys and create a new key. Give it any name.
- Copy the key. It starts with
cfxk_.
You paste the key in the Cfx.re License Key field when you order. A free key allows up to 48 players.
Change the key later
- Stop the server in the panel .
- Open the Startup tab and paste the new key into the license key variable (
FIVEM_LICENSE). - Start the server.

Treat the key like a password. Anyone who has it can run a server under your Cfx.re account.

MAX_PLAYERS: up to 48 with a free key.SERVER_HOSTNAME: the name shown in the server list.FIVEM_VERSION:recommendedis the safe choice. Change it only if a resource asks for a newer build.
