⚠️
Mods can crash the server or damage a save. Make a backup first, and add mods a few at a time so you know which one caused a problem.
Only mods made to run on a dedicated server work. Open the mod’s Info.json: if its install rules do not include "IsServer": true, it will not load on a server. Some mods also have to be installed by every player, so read the mod page.
Upload Workshop mods
- Subscribe to the mods on the Palworld Steam Workshop and launch the game once so Steam downloads them.
- On your PC, open
Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1623730. Each numbered folder is one mod and has anInfo.jsoninside. - Select those folders and zip them together.
- In the panel , stop the server, open Files, and create the folders
Mods/Workshopin the main folder. - Upload the zip into
Mods/Workshopand choose Unarchive. Each mod should end up asMods/Workshop/<folder>/Info.json.
Turn them on
The server loads nothing until mods are listed in its settings file.
- Start the server once so it creates
Mods/PalModSettings.ini, then stop it. - Edit
Mods/PalModSettings.ini:
[PalModSettings]
bGlobalEnableMod=true
ActiveModList=FirstModPackageName
ActiveModList=SecondModPackageNameUse the PackageName from each mod’s Info.json, not the folder name. Add one ActiveModList= line per mod.
- Start the server. Loaded mods appear under
Mods/ManagedMods.
Update or remove
- Update: upload the new version over the old folder and restart.
- Remove: delete its
ActiveModList=line (and its folder if you like) and restart. - Start without any mods: set
bGlobalEnableMod=false.
Not loading?
- Check the mod supports dedicated servers (
"IsServer": true). - Check the
PackageNameis spelled exactly as inInfo.json. - Mods that need the UE4SS loader are built for Windows servers and usually do not run on our Linux servers. Ask in a ticket if a mod you need depends on it.
